Who are you?
My name is Iyaz Akhtar and I'm the Associate Producer and a host of "Tech News Today" on TWiT.tv amongst other things.
Is TWiT your full-time gig?
Yes.
Are you really a lawyer?
Yep. I received my J.D. from Vermont Law School and my LL.M in Taxation from New York University.
If you're a lawyer, why are you on a tech news show?
I love tech and podcasting was my hobby. It turned into a full time job by chance.
Why do you hate everything?
I don't hate everything - I just don't like everything.
Where are you from?
I was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Queens. My parents are from Pakistan and I'm a first generation American.
Did you move for TWiT?
Yes. I lived 31 years on the east coast, but moved to California for TWiT.
What do you do outside of TWiT?
I pretend to be a husband, father, and a dog owner.
Do you do any podcasts outside of TWiT?
Yep. I am the host/producer of "This Old Nerd," the host of "Two and a half Geeks" for HotHardware.com, and also do a number of other podcasts.
Are you aware there is a musician who uses the same name as you?
Yes. Very.
